Logo’s must follow some basic, yet essential rules. These include:
- Uniqueness
- Timeless – don’t get hung up on passing fads or trends
- Free of special effects because they may not add to the professional look
- Adaptability – you want your logo to be transferable to different mediums such as checks, FAXes, invoices, etc.
- Scalability – design your logo so it can be used in a variety of sizes, both large and very small. Most importantly, your text must be readable.
- Color is Secondary – refrain from using too many colors that blend when the logo is made smaller or that lacks the proper contrast.
Appropriate Aspect Ratio & Footprint – square is best
